About Rubber Bands
Rubber Bands
Rubber bands (also known as: elastic band, a lackey band, lacka band, laggy band, or gumband) come in a variety of length, width and thickness most formed in a shape of a loop. Rubber bands are primarily made using natural rubber because of its superior elasticity, as opposed to other rubber products that may use synthetic rubber. Different temperatures affect the elasticity of the rubber band in unusual ways. Here is an example: heat causes the rubber band to contract, while cooler temperatures cause the rubber band to expand. The rubber band was patented on March 17, 1845 by Stephen Perry.
